Greetings,
I was listening to the wonderful Bibleworm Podcast, and realized that I had made a mistake on my biological note. Biologically, ovulation occurs at least a week after menstruation. However, the Jewish rite of purification after mensuration also occurs seven days after the menstrual flow ceases, which would make it far more likely that Bathsheba was ovulating when she is ‘summoned’ by David. My apologies for giving you incorrect information (this is what happens when men try to figure these things out amiright?)
Thanks for reading!
Aaron
